Architectural Design Services
Timber Truss has employed architectural designers since 1974. The design philosophy is to develop architectural plans that reflect the needs of the building industry using current design and construction techniques and products and materials that are readily available. The design staff is three full time designers and two former designers now serving as company officers with a cumulative total of 93 years design education and experience. This is extremely important in helping to design economical and aesthetically pleasing plans for the public. This experience also allows each plan that is offered to be accurately dimensioned and detailed making them easy to understand and easy to build.
Timber Truss has a separate engineering staff on premises to help resolve complicated structural issues in residential and multi-family buildings. Two technical teams allow easy integration of the required structural elements needed such as beams, headers, and floor and roof systems into our building packages from the very first conception of the design. The resulting set of architectural plans, from this collaboration between design and engineering staffs, is an accurately detailed plan that has been properly structured and is ready for code approval.
TrussMark Homes
The Architectural, Engineering, and Estimating teams combine together to design and develop our own line of panelized homes called TrussMark Homes. These homes are prominently displayed in our showroom and on our web site. We have many styles and sizes from which to choose your new home.
The numbers on the home brochures correspond to the estimated heated square footage of that plan. Should you be considering a plan such as the 1663 for example, then that plan has roughly 1663 square feet of heated floor space. Space in the garage and basements are not included in that number. All of our designers are trained in computer aided design. This technology and our experience allows us to design a better structure while allowing us to build economy into the package by maximizing material usage and cutting back on waste. The home design dimensions are typically rounded off to 2'-0" increments because major components of the framing package are in those same increments. Plywood is available in 4'x 8' sheets, while floor and roof trusses are normally spaced 2'-0" o.c. This makes for less waste at the job site while promoting material efficiency, green building techniques, time savings and lower labor costs.
Custom Home Plans
With all of the advantages listed in TrussMark homes, you can see why having our architectural staff design custom homes has become such a high demand service. Often in the past five years, we have become involved with the custom designing of homes and other projects for our builders and customers to help them achieve their goals. We can determine a plans fee/custom package solution for you at very competitive prices while our experienced staff can often help you overcome the structural and code issues of today's larger more complex homes.
